Paramount: ‘Carriers’ to get a December Rental release

After being dumped in theaters this past September, the Chris Pine (Star Trek) thriller Carriers is coming to rental DVD on December 8, 2009 from Paramount Home Entertainment. A full DVD release is yet to be announced, but is expected in 4 to 6 weeks after the release. Determined to escape a deadly virus, four teens set out in search of an uncontaminated refuge. As they travel across the decimated landscape of America, they encounter a truth far more horrifying than the virus they are trying to survive.

Co-starring Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly), Emily VanCamp (“Brothers & Sisters”), and Emmy®-nominee Chris Meloni (“Law and Order: SVU”) CARRIERS is a terrifying journey into a world where laws and rules no longer apply, and no one can be trusted – not even your friends. The film was written and directed by Alex & David Pastor.

The CARRIERS DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 televisions with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround, Spanish 5.1 Surround and English, French and Spanish subtitles. The DVD will be available for sale four to six weeks after its rental street date.

I was wondering why there was no theatrical release. I guess not all theatres got it. This film was given short shrift.
