Who Are The Pine-Nuts and What Do They Do?

In the summer of 2009, Chris gained a great many fans thanks to his role as Capt. James T. Kirk in one of the most beloved franchises in the world: Star Trek. A small group of fans, old and new, took to Chris-Pine.org to discuss this talented and charismatic actor. Before long, the group had dubbed itself “The Pine-Nuts.”

That same summer, Chris appeared in a production of Farragut North at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Closing night, a group of Pine-Nuts attended the show to support Chris’s professional efforts and presented him with a book of letters from Pine-Nuts all over the world. These letters were an introduction of sorts for future charitable projects that The Pine-Nuts would involve themselves in.

Since the summer of 2009, The Pine-Nuts have been a quiet force in support of Chris’s career, attending his various plays and professional appearances. In addition, various charitable projects have been completed in The Pine-Nut name on behalf of Chris. These charities include Project(RED), Gulf Aid, Help for Haiti Now, Toys for Tots, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, The Orangewood Children’s Foundation, various adopt-a-family charities, and numerous others.

This page will be updated with the most recent Pine-Nut project once it’s decided, so if you would like to participate be sure to check back often to see what the Pine-Nuts are up to next.
