Chris helps to rebuild Haiti, signs hardhat for charity

All proceeds from this Habitat for Humanity hardhat autographed by Chris Pine will go directly to help families affected by the earthquake in Haiti, providing children and families with much needed shelter, and a safe and decent place to live. With YOUR help, the artists in the RMFHaiti video and who have donated hardhats to this auction are raising awareness and funds in order to REBUILD HOPE. REBUILD HOMES. REBUILD HAITI.

Unknown costume party captures & video

The date this was taken is unknown to me so I’m going to take a wild guess and say this took place last year. Nonetheless you can easily see Chris having a kick ass time with his former girlfriend and friend, Beau Garrett. You can look at the captures of Chris with Beau from the costume party dressed as a cowboy. A very sexy cowboy at that.

Carriers to get a early rental release.

While the Paramount Vantage thriller CARRIERS (see our review here) is slated for a DVD release on December 29th (pre-order here), the rental market will get an early peek starting next Tuesday. The film has been scheduled for a December 8th rental release, with the title being made available through most DVD and/or digital rental channels. The film had a limited theatrical run back in September that bypassed most major markets (see story here) after being buzzed-about for over a year.

In a recent FANGORIA RADIO interview, filmmakers Alex Pastor and David Pastor revealed details on their next foray into genre fare, including their own take on the vampire/werewolf genre. Click here for details on that, and check out the latest trailer for CARRIERS below.

Star Trek casting featurette: Finding Kirk captures & video

I’ve added 256 captures of Chris from the featurette supposedly from the Star Trek DVD, which is to be released later this month on November 17th. The feature in it’s entirety consists of segments and clips of interviews with JJ and fellow cast mates while discussing the choices of who they chose to play each character in the Star Trek remake. It’s a really great video to watch so I recommend downloading the entire video, but for those interested you can watch Chris’s casting segment below.

The Guardian – 3×07 “Hazel Park” screen captures & video

Recently I was able to catch the episode of Chris from the late CBS series “The Guardian” in which Chris plays a orphaned 18 year old named Lonnie Grandy. This episode aired in 2003, and as it stands next to Chris’s “ER” television appearance this was Chris’s first big television role.

For those living under rocks and not paying any attention well listen up! Today, August 26th is our boy Chris’s 29th birthday! Yes, yes it is! I’m at a loss for words and really the only thing I can do is hope you have a amazing birthday with your family and friends. Happy Birthday Chris!

So in light of this monuments day I thought I would share a rare video of Chris from his brief guest spot on the HBO hit series “Six Feet Under” from 2005. Feel free to share your thoughts and wishes for Chris!

VIDEO: Chris is excited about ‘Star Trek 2′ & ‘Unstoppable’

Chris Pine talked “Star Trek” with the Dish Rag at the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.’s annual installation luncheon, during which the group hands out gobs of cash to deserving charities.

“The big thing I’ve been surprised by is is how many people who weren’t fans who we were able to grab into the fold,” Pine said. “To make ‘Star Trek’ accessible to a wider audience and to a new generation of fans is a wonderful thing, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the second one.”

What’s the scoop on the new “Star Trek 2″?

“I know as much as anybody else,” Pine admitted. “They want to get stuff going for 2011 so I don’t know if that means we’ll shoot next year or what, but I haven’t heard anything one way or the other.”

Is the whole cast coming back? “As far as I know, yeah.”

All we’ve heard is that the immortal phrase “He’s dead, Jim” will probably be uttered and that “Heroes” star Greg Grunberg is pushing to play the classic ST villain Harry Mudd.

You remember Mudd, don’t you? He’s the character who let all those trilling Tribbles loose on the Enterprise.

Does this mean there will be Tribbles? We can’t wait!!

Next up for Chris is “Unstoppable,” which he starts shooting in the fall. “To be doing a movie with Denzel Washington and Tony Scott is like a kid’s dream,” he says. “I’ve watched and been a fan of both of theirs for as long as I can remember.”

Then there’s “Carriers,” which Chris describes as “a post-apocalyptic, psychological thriller … it’s been a busy, fulfilling year.”

At the luncheon, he was accepting a check for the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. “The HFPA is making a generous grant and my sister and my mom both went to UCLA, so I’m happy to be a part of it.”
