As always I will have photo and video coverage after the event!

On April 14, the MTV Movie Awards will feel the thunder from Down Under as “Pitch Perfect” actress Rebel Wilson stars as host of this year’s celebration of all things cinematical. But, as we’ve learned from Wilson’s hilarious car-chase promos with “Magic Mike” hunk Channing Tatum, she could always use a little back-up (or feel up, as the case may be). And now she’s getting it—the back-up part, at least—with a slew of presenters announced Friday (March 29).

Many of the year’s most anticipated films will be represented by multiple cast members. There’s Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto from “Star Trek Into Darkness,” Seth Rogen and Danny McBride from “This Is the End,” and Chris Rock and Adam Sandler from “Grown Ups 2.”

It all goes down live Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET from the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California. You won’t want to miss a single second of the action!

Empire’s J.J. Abrams’ special issue hits newsagent shelves on March 28th.

The front cover of Empire’s May issue is boldly going where very few covers have gone before. In publishing’s answer to Project Genesis, it has expanded across three whole pages of cover to accommodate Star Trek Into Darkness’s full complement in a gatefold that lays out the full majesty of J.J. Abrams’ world.

From Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk to Zachary Quinto’s Spock, and newbies Alice Eve (Carol Marcus) and the mysterious and most likely fairly evil John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch). No wonder Kirk looks miffed. Abrams has (a) stolen his chair, and (b) failed to turn up in appropriate Starfleet attire.

As those cover lines reveal, the edition is jammed with Abrams-related goodies. There’s new Star Wars gems within, a comprehensive oral history of Lost and we’ve spoken to everyone in the JJverse. Brace yourself for something truly special.

“It’s always a bit overwhelming,” admits Pine, 32. “What I do know is my job is to do my best to bring whatever new colors I have to these franchises.”

In Jack Ryan, directed by Kenneth Branagh, Pine takes the character to its beginning, where the injured Marine is recruited by CIA vet Kevin Costner to work as a high-level analyst. The two are pitted against a Russian oligarch (played by Branagh) who is pulling the strings of the financial market and delving into international terrorism with potential global catastrophic results.

The Russian angle might sound like classic Clancy, who set his novels during and in the shadow of the Cold War. But this original story has been brought to the present.

“We cheated a little,” says Branagh. “Mr. Clancy is very aware of and very behind the concept, but we put Jack Ryan in the here and now.”

“We take the fundamentals of the myth of Jack Ryan and do an original film that was never a book,” says Pine. “We’re making our own story in a modern-day 2013.”

Of vital importance for Pine was keeping Ryan very much the everyman, with his greatest asset being his analytical brain.

“He doesn’t drive great cars, he doesn’t know five different martial arts,” says Pine. “He works in the CIA, but he’s a normal guy with a normal wife (fiancée, actually) thrown into these extraordinary circumstances.”

Costner’s character “shows him right away that it’s not physical prowess or shooting a gun that’s Jack’s weapon, but it’s how smart he is,” adds Pine.
