Unstoppable star Chris Pine graces the cover of the second weekly edition of The Hollywood Reporter, on stands Wednesday.

Pine is just one of a handful of hot, young Hollywood lights on which the industry is banking to replace the vaunted old guard of box office stars.

Between now and summer 2012, audiences will see Pine, along with a small group of young actors, pushing — and being pushed — into blockbuster star-making terrain.

“We need these kids desperately,” one studio producer tells THR. “And there happens to be a crop of five or six of them that are actually filling the role.”

And clearly the new status has its bonuses. As Pine tells THR, “To have just a bit more power to say yes and no is very appealing and intoxicating.”

The good folks over at Collider have gotten their hands on this promo image/poster for Star Trek 2, which Paramount are planning to bring to cinemas June 29th, 2012. J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk will produce the film (Abrams has currently not signed to direct yet), while the sequel will bring back stars Chris Pine, Zach Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban and John Cho. I’ve added 6 photos of Chris and ‘This Means War’ co-star Tom Hardy on set last night filming what seems to be some sort of fight scene. Hopefully more photos will surface soon. 😉

Actors Tom Hardy and Chris Pine are seen on the set of “This Means War” in Vancouver. In the scene the two had a fist fight, resulting in fake blood and bruises. At one point Tom Hardy started goofing around and put his own stunt dobule in an arm lock, who immediately began screaming like a girl.
