Chris is set to narrate a new documentary about the space called ‘Space: The New Frontier’! The news was exclusively reported by Deadline and you can check more details bellow:

EXCLUSIVE: Chris Pine, who famously played Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboot, is set to narrate Space: The New Frontier, a documentary made for IMAX, Giant Screen and specialty theatres by Definition Studios Australia in association with K2 Studios.

The doc examines how humankind has continued to push the scientific boundaries of what is possible in space, following the pioneers and visionaries from private companies as well as NASA and other international space agencies – expanding the limits of science, engineering and the human body to enrich life on earth. From new launch to reusable rocket technologies, commercial space stations to NASA’s Artemis Moon to Mars program, living and working in space is closer than we think, according to the new doc.

Pine, who is coming off the back of his directorial debut Poolman andis a supporter of Children’s Hospital and The Orchid Foundation, a mentorship and scholarship program for underserved girls, said: “I remember seeing these shows in IMAX when I was a kid, so to be a part of it is a real blessing and I can’t wait to inspire kids.

Space: The New Frontier will roll out in 3D and 2D IMAX, Giant Screen and Dome theaters at space museums, science centers and other cultural destinations worldwide, starting with the Kennedy Space Center in this month. The film will roll out globally over the next several years. STEM outreach and resources include classroom visits from MIT alumni and space architects at Aurelia Institute seen in the film as well as hands-on activities and lessons for teachers.

A man of many talents! Chris will publish his first ever book, a children’s book in the second semester! Check all the details bellow shared by People Magazine:

Chris Pine has a new story to share with young readers this year.

The actor, 43, announced exclusively with PEOPLE that he will publish his debut children’s book this fall. ‘When Digz the Dog Met Zurl the Squirrel’, will be published by Flamingo Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers.

“I love books, I love reading,” Pine says in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “And I owe this love to my parents: sitting curled in my dad’s arm as he read ‘The Wind and the Willows’ for the umpteenth time; listening to my mom pick words out of the air to create a bespoke story just for me as I faded off into snooze town.”

The book, which features illustrations from Chuck Groenink, tells of the friendship between two unlikely pals: Digz the Dog and Zurl the Squirrel. Both animals feel that they are the rightful rulers of Ms. Pincher’s garden, and start a “backyard turf war” because they think they can’t be friends, per the book’s description.

Both animals, however, soon come to see that they might not be so different from one another after all.

Pine’s childhood love of literature helped inspire the story, the actor says.

“My desire was to make a beautiful something that reminded me of the classics with which I grew up; to tell a simple tale, made up of delicious words and cuddle-worthy images that, hopefully, resonates with the child in all of us,” he continues.

Pine has a busy year ahead of him, aside from the publication of his book. His directorial debut, ‘Poolman’, hits theaters on May 10; Pine co-stars in the film as well, alongside Annette Bening and Danny DeVito. Pine also voices a character in the animated film ‘Wish’, now streaming on Disney +.

His picture book marks a new chapter for the star.
“I have long been a fan of Chris’ work as an actor,” says Margaret Anastas, Vice President and Publisher of Flamingo Books and Creative Artists Agency. “I’m thrilled and honored to take his signature wit and tremendous heart to readers everywhere with the message that, if we can keep our minds open, we stand to gain incredible friendships and experiences.”

‘When Digz the Dog Met Zurl the Squirrel’ will be published on Oct. 8 and is now available for preorder.

Chris Pine is caught up in a criminal conspiracy in his star-studded directorial debut.

PEOPLE has the exclusive trailer for Pine’s Poolman, which he co-wrote, stars in and directs. The trailer shows the star as a Los Angeles pool attendee named Darren Barrenman, who is approached by a mysterious woman (DeWanda Wise) for his assistance with exposing a corrupt politician.

It was a flow state for months. There wasn’t time to think or get in my head,” Pine, 43, tells PEOPLE of directing himself in the movie, which comes more than 20 years after he first began acting in Hollywood. “It was so joyful and the most creative I’ve ever gotten to be on set.”

A synopsis for Poolman describes Pine’s character as “a native Los Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live.”

“When he is tasked by a femme fatale to uncover the truth behind a shady business deal, Darren enlists the help of his friends to take on a corrupt politician and a greedy land developer,” the synopsis adds. “His investigation reveals a hidden truth about his beloved city and himself.”

Pine says, “We hope you leave the theater with a smile, feeling a little bit lighter than when you came in. Just a moment to escape the day-to-day with a story that delights.”

The star calls his character “a dreamer whose search for love and connection won’t be bullied into submission by a cynical world.”

“I like that kind of optimism and I think audiences will too,” adds Pine.

It’s here! The first trailer for Chris Pine’s directorial debut, “Poolman”, has been released exclusively by Entertainment Weekly! The movie will be released in theaters on May 10th. Check it out:

Forget it, Poolman. It’s Chinatown.

Chris Pine plays a Los Angeles-based pool cleaner recruited to become an undercover detective in the zany trailer for Poolman, which EW can exclusively debut above. The mysterious comedy was also co-written, produced, and directed by the actor in his directorial debut.

“I hadn’t thought about directing until I happened upon this idea,” Pine tells Entertainment Weekly of stepping behind the camera for the first time. “It was the idea that really wouldn’t let go of me and wouldn’t let me wiggle out of directing duties. I loved having ownership of this creation from top to bottom. The ability to fully express myself was deeply satisfying.”

In the upcoming movie, which premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival, Pine’s eccentric Darren Barrenman spends his days tending to the pool at his apartment complex, a Zen-like ritual he performs with precision. When he’s not poolside, he’s usually down at City Hall, passionately fighting to make Los Angeles a better place. But as sincere and good-intentioned as he is, Barrenman isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the pool shed.

When a mysterious femme fatale (DeWanda Wise) approaches him to help uncover corruption in the city, he enlists the help of best pals Dianne (Annette Bening) and Jack (Danny DeVito), as well as girlfriend Susan (Jennifer Jason Leigh), to crack the case.

“I love actors and there I was working with some of the best actors in our business,” says Pine of the stacked cast. “It was a marvel to watch them discover and create right in front of my eyes. And whatever anxiety I may have had directing Oscar winners evaporated quite quickly under the heat of ‘no money, no time.'”

A spin of the neo-noir genre — namely, Jack Nicholson’s Chinatown — with a pastel-hued comedic twist, the trailer sees Pine’s bohemian amateur sleuth staking out the lantern-lined streets of Los Angeles’ Chinatown in search of some leads and later, submerging himself underwater. A lizard and a tree — one that’s trying to tell Darren something about his past — also play into the mystery.

Poolman dives into theaters May 10.
