Hello Pinenuts! I’m really sorry for the lack of updated about Chris newest project, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Not only my life is a little crazy, but we had some problems with our site that are thankfully solved. Anyways, back to what matters. Hello! Amazing news, Chris’ directorial Debut “Poolman” got a UK Deal! The news were reported exclusively by Deadline and you can read more about it bellow:

EXCLUSIVE: Signature Entertainment has acquired UK and Irish rights to Chris Pine’s directorial debut Poolman from AGC Studios.

The film is led by Star Trek actor Pine and also stars Annette Bening (American Beauty), Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World: Dominion), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), and Ray Wise (Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me).

Poolman follows Darren Barrenman (Pine) as a lackadaisical pool boy cleaning the Tahitian Tiki apartment block pool and gate-crashing city council meetings with neighborhood friends Jack and Diane (DeVito, Bening). However, after discovering plans to rob Los Angeles of its water, Bannerman becomes a bohemian detective traversing L.A.’s celebrity and criminal underworlds, taking it upon himself to become the city’s savior.

The mystery-comedy, produced by Ian Gotler (Doula), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Stacey Sher (Django Unchained), and Pine (Star Trek), is directed by Pine who co-wrote with Gotler.

The deal with AGC Studios was negotiated with Signature Entertainment’s Director of Acquisitions and Development Elizabeth Williams.

Williams said: “We are honored to be releasing the brilliant Chris Pine’s directorial debut Poolman, a truly original comedy that will charm, engross and surprise UK audiences.”

Releasing in only 3 days, on September 23rd, a behind the scenes B-Roll video of Chris upcoming movie, Don’t Worry Darling, has been released. You can see Chris and his castmates, including Gemma Chan, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, filming various scenes from the project. You can watch it bellow and see screen captures in our gallery:

Chris’ production company Barry Linen Motion Pictures has announced the upcoming release of Doula, a comedy starring Troian Bellisario that will be released to digital and on-demand on June 20, 2022. Collider had the opportunity to speak to Chris about the movie and he mentioned that “Making Doula was a dream come true. It’s written by one of our best friends, directed by one of our best friends, starring a bunch of our best friends. The film was a ton of fun to make, and we hope audiences see that when they’re watching it.”

He’s set to appear in the movie as well, playing Deb’s doctor. Thanks to Chris Pine Daily we are able to show you the trailer of the movie, and you can also find the full synopsis from it below.

The film, directed by Cheryl Nichols, will follow Deb (Troian Bellisario) and her new boyfriend Silvio (Arron Shiver), on their whirlwind pregnancy journey. Hoping to explore alternative birth methods, the couple hires a midwife named Penka to help them through labor. However, when Penka dies unexpectedly, Silvio takes things into his own hands, hiring Penka’s son Sascha (Will Greenberg), as a replacement. Oh, and Sascha will be living with the nesting family as well. And while Deb is at first hesitant about the decision, she soon grows close to Sascha, maybe too close for Silvio’s liking. As Silvio starts to feel excluded from his own relationship, he will begin to control Deb’s pregnancy, leading to an explosive fight that will force Deb to choose between the father of her child and her newly formed friendship.
