Chris Pine has tried to hide his excitement about working with Denzel Washington.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of their film Unstoppable, Chris teased: “Eh, it was ok.”
He then admitted: “It was extraordinary, it was Denzel Washington! I can’t even believe that I’m on the poster and somebody’s not going to hit me and I’ll wake up. It’s very exciting.”
The film is based on the true story of a runaway unmanned train carrying hazardous chemicals in Ohio in 2001. It also sees Denzel collaborate with Pelham 123 director Tony Scott for the fifth time.
“The big fish hook was Denzel and Tony. At the end of the day, the script could have been like a phone book and I would have done it,” Chris joked.
The Star Trek actor insisted he had been an avid fan of the filmmaker’s work from early on.
“The first film that I saw that my parents wouldn’t let me see the sex scene in was Top Gun – and I must have watched it over and over again,” he laughed. “He made a really big impact on my life early on. It was great to work with him.”
