A little bummed we don’t get it sooner, but thankful it’s only an extra few weeks. 🙂

Today.com — There will be no Christmas celebration with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.

Paramount Picture and Skydance Productions announced Thursday that the Chris Pine thriller will move from it’s Christmas Day opening to January 17, 2014.

No reason was given for the release date change, but the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday can be a popular moving-going weekend.

Jack Ryan is directed by Kenneth Branagh and takes the popular movie character back to his origins — an injured Marine (Pine) recruited by a CIA veteran played by Kevin Costner. The two are pitted against a Russian oligarch played by Branagh.

The Cold War setting has been moved to the present day.

This is great news to hear, especially with how hilarious the first one was. I can only imagine what kind of character Chris will play.

Chris Pine has closed a deal to play one of the horrible bosses in Horrible Bosses 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Sean Anders and John Morris, hot off of penning New Line’s surprise comedy hit We’re the Millers, are directing the comedy.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jamie Foxx are set to reprise their roles in the workplace comedy.

New Line is in the process of finding the titular bosses right now. It was hoping that Pine and Christoph Waltz would play a son-father duo but Waltz passed.

Pine is in between action franchises: He is coming off of Star Trek Into Darkness and next has Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit opening Dec. 25.

Paramount’s Kenneth Branagh-directed thriller is said to have begun test-screening its first trailer under the name Jack Ryan: Shadow One.

The film will see Pine take the title character back to his early years, following him from the Marines to his recruitment into the CIA by Kevin Costner’s Langley analyst.

According to Slash Film, Ryan and Costner’s William Harper will take on a Russian oligarch (Branagh) who’s manipulating the stock market and tied to global terrorism.

Keira Knightley features in the supporting cast as Ryan’s wife Cathy.

Clancy’s government agent has been portrayed by Alec Baldwin (in The Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) and Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears).

Jack Ryan: Shadow One will open in cinemas this December.
