5. Chris Pine
Chris Pine heated up the silver screen in this spring’s remake of Star Trek. The actor, who had landed roles in less lucrative, recent films, played James T. Kirk–the character made famous by William Shatner in the original television series–in this year’s movie. The film grossed $75 million opening weekend, just short of opening weekend box office sales of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I’ve added 3 high quality photos of Chris from last night’s Opening Night of “Oleanna” at the Mark Taper Forum.

Among those in the audience at the Taper were Chris Pine, fresh from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” seated next to Chris Noth (“Sex in the City’), his co-star in the upcoming Geffen Playhouse production of “Farragut North.” Apparently the “Farragut” cast likes to hang out together on off days because Isiah Whitlock and Olivia Thirlby also were there. (Culture Monster will let you know whether Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles return the favor at the “Farragut” opening later this month.) “Oleanna” director Doug Hughes happens to be staging “Farragut North” so we expect to see him again in Westwood at the Geffen.

AN: Just so everyone is aware I know MTV is pretty reliable but I’m waiting on a confirmation from his Publicist just to be sure since a few projects listed on his IMDB page are incorrect.

Both Denzel Washington and Chris Pine presented Golden Popcorn statues at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, and if all goes according to plan, the two actors will be working much more closely together in the fall. MTV News has learned exclusively that Pine has signed on to Denzel’s upcoming thriller based on a true story, “Unstoppable.”

“I’m going to shoot a movie in the fall called ‘Unstoppable’ — me and Tony Scott — and Chris Pine’s going to do it with us,” Washington revealed backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “I hope I’m not speaking out of line. I think they made a deal with him, and I’m supposed to meet him next week.”

While Denzel has not yet seen Pine as the new James T. Kirk in “Star Trek,” he said, “That’s the one movie I do want to see this summer.”

Well I know some of you have questioned it and possibly believe one you may have added, or have followed or even befriended is the REAL Chris but the truth is Chris does not have a account on any of these sites. I’ve confirmed it twice with his Publicist just to be sure, because the last thing I want to do is hand out incorrect nformation to you guys.

So if you have a “Chris Pine” added or are currently following one on Twitter than I suggest you un-add/un-follow them because it’s not Chris. Whenever the time comes that Chris is to ever get one of these accounts you can be your butt I will be the first to let you guys know. 🙂
