At a panel for the animated movie “Quantum Quest,” the new Captain Kirk, Chris Pine, called co-director Dr. Harry Kloor, who promptly put his cellphone up to the microphone — so that Pine could address the crowd and promote the movie.

Pine went over points including his desire to be a voiceover actor (“Cause they always looked like they were having the most fun.”), the funny faces he made while in the voiceover booth, and his newfound respect and interest in science because of his participation in the movie (“If I had had a movie like this when I was younger, I may have been more into it.”)

The panel included Robert Picardo of “Star Trek Voyager” and Doug Jones of many things (“Hellboy”). The movie itself is a star-studded event that includes the voices of William Shatner (when Kirks collide!), Jason Alexander, Samuel L. Jackson, Hayden Christensen, Amanda Peet, James Earl Jones, and astronaut Neil Armstrong. The notoriously reclusive Armstorng even sent along a video supporting both the movie and advancements in scienctific education.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Denzel is back on for ‘Unstoppable’, isn’t that awesome?! 🙂

After recently withdrawing from Tony Scott’s upcoming runaway-train flick Unstoppable over rumored salary concerns, Denzel Washington has signed back on for the project with his Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 director, according to his rep. The film is based on the true story of two men trying to stop a train filled with toxic materials from destroying a town. Star Trek‘s Chris Pine is slated to costar; shooting will start in September.

AN: Also if things look a little funky it’s because the new design is currently in the works and will be up in a few days if not sooner. So just sit tight and stay tuned 😀

You can catch Chris on the hit series CSI: Miami in the 2003 episode “Extreme” which is set to air Tomorrow at 12PM and 6PM eastern standard time. It will be airing on the A&E Channel, be sure to check your local listings. I’ve had this on DVD for some time now and haven’t had the chance to get video from it, but hopefully soon I will have the chance but in the meantime be sure to check it out!

Thanks to Mei Mei for the heads up!

We can’t say it enough: Don’t tempt fate by giving your movie an name that could come back to bite it.

The Denzel Washington movie “Unstoppable” has been, yes, stopped, according to the trades.

Fox is claiming budget issues have stalled production on the movie, which was still in the conceptual stages. Washington and “Star Trek” star Chris Pine were attached as a veteran engineer and his protege, respectively, who are tasked with stopping a runaway train full of toxic chemicals.

That concept, plus the presumably high costs of the movie’s stars, apparently raised red flags at the Fox accounting department. The studio claims it’s working to get the film back on track for less cash.

AN: I had just recently confirmed with Chris’s publicist that he was indeed in negotiations for the movie.
